June 8: Monthly Yoga Mom’s Group ~ Staying Present

Bring your babies and come connect with other new moms in this monthly yoga workshop. Together we will explore how the principles of yoga can be cultivated as we enter the brave new world of motherhood. This workshop-style session will feature group discussion and sharing on a monthly theme (see topic below!), centering/intention setting with our babies, and gentle movement for mom and baby. You will leave each class with takeaways – such as affirmations, breathing exercises and/or postures – that you can practice at home.

The workshop is designed for mothers with babies who are precrawlers or crawlers only (about 6 weeks to 6-10 months). No walkers/toddlers during this session please.

The session is led by Stephanie Kensy, a new mother who received her yoga certification while pregnant with her son, Austin. She is also trained through ChildLight Yoga, the nation’s leading children’s yoga and mindfulness program.

Monthly themes/discussion topics – Share your story or simply listen to the stories and experiences of other moms. We’ll explore these thoughts and feelings through candid discussion, meditation and movement.

June theme: Staying Present – Do you feel like you have a never-ending to-do list? What thoughts do you have about your daily tasks? Do you find it challenging to focus on other aspects of or responsibilities in your life outside of your role as a mom? Do you feel like your time is scheduled and wonder how to make the most of your time?
