What is Reiki?
What is Reiki? The word “Reiki” (pronounced Ray – Kee) comes from the Japanese language, from the words “rei” meaning universal life and “ki” meaning life energy. Therefore, Reiki is a Japanese, subtle energy healing that can promote relaxation for the whole body. It is considered “alternative” or complimentary medicine.
How Does Reiki Work?
Everything, including the physical body, is made of energy. Energy vibrates at different frequencies. Stress, anxieties, trauma and a range of emotions can cause energy to become stuck in the body. When energy becomes stuck dis-ease or illness can set in.
As Reiki practitioners we tap into the universal healing vibration. This high vibrating frequency allows for the recipient to help address any stuck energies and concerns. The body takes the energy in to heal where healing is needed, including the chakras.
Reiki can be used for physical, emotional, mental, & spiritual healing. It can also reduce stress, anxiety and help calm chronic pain. Reiki can help to compliment any health or healing regimen in a gentle way. This practice can be hands-on or done by hovering hands over the body, no touch is necessary.
