This 32-hour training is designed for yoga teachers, doulas and midwives interested in learning how to help pregnant women enhance their experience during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
You will learn:
• Anatomy and physiology of the growing fetus and how this produces changes in the mother’s body during each trimester;
• Fetal development;
• physiological and hormonal changes in the mother’s body and possible body responses to these changes;
• Appropriate asana, assisting, pranayama, sounding and meditation will be covered for each trimester.
Each day begins with a prenatal yoga class during which participants wear “pregnant bellies” for each trimester to simulate the experience of moving in a prenatal body. Class will be followed by theory, practical application, and practice teaching. You will leave confident about leading and sequencing a prenatal yoga class including language, visualization, and hands-on assisting. In addition, the course will provide tips for labor and birth, partner prenatal yoga, and marketing oneself.
Jacci is a professional level Pranakriya and Kripalu yoga teacher as well as an ERYT and Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher. She did her 200 hour training while in her 5th month of pregnancy and attributes her pregnancy experience to her yoga, pranayama and meditation practice. It was only natural to want to share the power of yoga for pregnancy, childbirth and beyond with other women. She is a director of the Pranakriya 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and leads Prenatal Yoga Teacher Trainings around the country. Her aim is to create a safe and comfortable community for women to practice, share and enjoy their pregnancy experiences.
